LUMINOUS HUNDERTWASSER: Workshop

Sunday 15th June, 12.30-4.30pm

Description

As he said “the picture is the harvest of the dream”. This mixed media workshop lets you develop a version of his style. Friedrich Hundertwasser loved spirals, a symbol of life and nature. Born in Vienna in 1928, he lived in Northland, NZ in the 70s. Whangarei District Council opened a gallery in conjunction with his Viennese Foundation. The session will include a slideshow from Margaret’s recent visit to inspire us. Learn how to:

- use organic shapes, spirals and symbols in your art

- paint bands of vibrant colours in his style with colour theory tips

- use inks to stain an underpainting with luminous colour

- apply unusual angles and perspective to draw in the viewer.

Creative Director of Art Grooves, Margaret Taylor graduated from The Learning Connexion (Diploma in Art & Creativity) 12 years ago. Then she ran a popular art education programme for KAC for over 8 years. This workshop is for anyone with an interest in being creative, regardless of experience. All materials are included.
