The road to diabetes does not have to be a one-way street. There is reason for hope! This class is an introduction to the knowledge, tools, and lifestyle strategies that help individuals reduce the risk of developing diabetes, and to manage and even reverse the disease. The class is intended for those with diabetes, prediabetes, or a family history of risk factors for developing diabetes. It will feature nutrition education and cooking demonstrations, and participants will leave with a selection of affordable and easy recipes they can prepare at home.
Katarina Tawiri is a certified Food for Life instructor, teaching nutrition for disease prevention and planetary health. They go hand in hand. She enjoys sharing food preparations which require minimal kitchen tools and offer savings both in terms of dollars spent and enhanced quality of life.
