DON’T DITCH IT, FIX IT: MEND YOUR MERINO

Sunday 2 August from 1-4.30pm

Description

A tiny hole, a snag, a worn elbow – it’s all too easy for a favourite merino to end up at the back of the wardrobe or in the bin. Instead, learn how to give your winter woollies a new lease of life.

In this practical, hands-on workshop, you'll explore a range of repair techniques, from delicate darning and subtle repairs through to creative visible mending that turns flaws into features. Whether you're dealing with a small hole or a larger repair, Ruth will help you assess the damage and choose the best approach.

Bring along your own merino garments in need of some TLC, or practise on sample pieces provided. No sewing experience is necessary.

Ruth (aka the Sewing Fairy) is an experienced seamstress who loves helping people repair, alter and reimagine clothing. Her philosophy is simple: “Don’t ditch it, fix it.”
