LATE AUTUMN FORAGING

Wednesday 7th May, 10am - 12pm

Description

Join well known and experienced local foraging expert Peter Langlands for this autumnal forage! Meeting at Swanns Road Bridge, we will look at 30 key eatable species that can be foraged in Christchurch and discuss ways to use and nutritional aspects. People should bring their phones to take photographs of the species found. Warm clothes and a light rain jacket are recommended. Also bring a backpack and some containers if you wish to collect some foraged foods to take home. We will walk about 2 kilometres looking at a range of foraging environments. A copy of the Christchurch Foraging Guide will be supplied free to all participants as a PDF file. Peter will also have copies of his book: Foraging NZ available at a discounted price of $45 and will be available for book signings.
