WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM THE WORLD’S LONGEST-LIVED PEOPLE?

12 December 9.30-12.30pm

Description

A practical workshop inspired by the Blue Zones. Why do some people stay healthy and active into their 90s and beyond? In communities popularly known as the Blue Zones, researchers have explored the everyday habits associated with long, healthy lives. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the lifestyles of these communities and discover simple, practical ideas that we might incorporate into our own lives. We’ll watch a short video, prepare a delicious plant-based meal together and enjoy lunch while sharing ideas for healthy ageing.

Participants will also be invited to choose one realistic lifestyle practice they would like to try for themselves. No special diet, cooking or gardening experience is required! Limited to 12 participants. Katarina Tawiri is a trained chef and an instructor in nutrition for disease prevention. She has undertaken extensive self-directed study in lifestyle medicine and also holds certifications in Ayurveda and shinrin-yoku.
