SEWING BASICS: GET TO KNOW YOUR MACHINE
Saturday 15th February, 1-4.30pm
Description
If you have a sewing machine that has been gathering dust or have made a new year’s vow to get into sewing but are unsure of where to start, then this short course is for you! The aim will be to gain confidence in using a sewing machine, how to troubleshoot any issues, and understand its functions. Spend some time learning and trying out what your machine (or ours if you don't have one yet) can do. You will use the different functions on your machine to produce a beautiful and useful piece of work....stitching fabric together, finishing, hemming, buttonholes, zips - the options are endless! It's all about building your confidence. Suitable for all ages and levels. Bring your own fabric or choose from a large range I've accumulated. If you have a machine bring it along and enjoy giving it time. Ruth (aka the Sewing Fairy) is an experienced seamstress who makes unique items from new, as well as altering that op shop find. Her motto is 'Don't ditch it, fix it '. Find her on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nzsewingfairy. Bring your lunch with you – tea and coffee provided.
