CLIMATE, WEATHER AND FLOODS!
Starts 17th February, 12.30 – 2.30pm
Description
Floods, wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, and winter storms. It sometimes seems that once in a century events are coming round every few years, with climate change to blame. Meanwhile, floods seem to come out of nowhere, as evening weather forecasts remain difficult to decipher. In this short course we discuss the differences between climate and weather and how to interpret weather forecast maps, and then, in week 2, we focus on trying to understand what is happening with changes in our weather, WHY, and what we may expect in years to come.
