OUR CHANGING OCEANS

Friday 11 September from 10 - 11.30am

Description

If you enjoyed the stunning imagery in the recent David Attenborough documentary Ocean, this session takes you a step further beneath the surface. We’ll explore some of the key scientific findings that reveal how marine environments are shifting — and how life-forms from whales to microscopic bacteria are responding. While the picture is complex and sometimes confronting, there is also a growing knowledge of practical actions we can take to reduce our impact on these extraordinary ecosystems.

Paul taught in the School of Biological Sciences, University of Canterbury and has a long-term interest in climate change. He has performed research in Antarctica and Iceland and is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others.
