HEALING THE HEALTH SYSTEM?
Starts 4 August from 12.30-2.30pm
Description
Is there a best way to run a health system? Some argue that New Zealand's Health system is on an ever-sliding path, with successive left- and right-wing governments struggling to find enough band-aids to cover growing problems. Is it broken or the result of past choices made? In this course we explore key issues and concerns through history and in our own health system, and then focus on how several other countries around the world arrange their own systems to address those problems. We finish with some reflections on proposals by NZ political parties on how to deal with those problems, as we head towards the 2026 election.
