WOMEN IN EUROPEAN PHILOSOPHY: ANCIENT TO 19TH CENTURY

Starts 29th April

Description

What is the proper place or role of women? What is the nature of politics, ethics, economy and society? Like many disciplines, questions like these have been dominated by men and male thought. However, Philosophy is also dotted with dozens of the keenest female minds. In this course we focus on the background and contributions of around two dozen women through history, whose contributions have helped shape philosophical discussion either alongside, because of, or despite their male contemporaries!
