CONSERVATION PERSPECTIVES: WILDLIFE, TRADE & PANDEMICS
Starts 8th May
Description
In a human-centred world where news stories often focus on human achievements and conflicts, wildlife crime and its wider impacts can go largely unnoticed. Join Fiona for two thought-provoking talks that explore these hidden connections.
In The Hidden World of Wildlife Trafficking, Fiona opens a window onto the global wildlife black market, revealing how illegal trade affects species, ecosystems, and conservation efforts. In Pandemics: A Conservation Perspective, she looks at the often unseen — and frequently ignored — links between environmental change, wildlife health, and the emergence of disease epidemics and pandemics.
Fiona is a UK-born vet, with postgraduate qualifications in conservation medicine and works with Canterbury’s only wildlife hospital.
