POPULATION, DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE AND PUBLIC HEALTH
Starts 5th June
Description
We can't understand the world, or plan for the future, without understanding population and demographic change. The world population is both growing and ageing which will bring many different challenges in the coming decades. The latest United Nations' projection expects the world population to peak at about 10.3 billion in 2084, a significant increase from the current 8.2 billion people. The first session will discuss how the world population and demographics are changing in various ways across the globe. It will cover population growth, birth rates, life expectancy, peak child and some other factors that impact on population trends. People are living longer healthier lives. With this in mind the second session will look at improvements in public health and the progress made on some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
