MOVIE MAGIC: HOW FILM AND TELEVISION REALLY WORK

Starts 7 September, 10am - 12 noon

Description

Ever wondered why some films and television shows make you laugh, cry, jump or sit on the edge of your seat? This course takes you behind the scenes to explore how screen stories are created. We’ll look at camera work, production design, sound, acting, special effects, editing and script to discover how each element shapes what we see on screen. From classic cinema and prestige television to modern streaming hits, you’ll gain a new appreciation for the craft behind every scene. No experience needed – just curiosity and a love of great storytelling. Dr Rie Natalenko has a doctorate in Creative Arts (screenwriting), and has won awards for fiction, poetry and screenwriting. She has taught all her life in schools, college, university, and in the community. Her books “Share your Skills”, “The Family Memory Project” and “The Family Message Book” cover craft workshops and family history respectively.
