WEIRD AND WONDERFUL TALES FROM A BUG’S WORLD: Part 2

Starts 17th October

Description

Join Simon Pollard for this mini-series delving into the incredible world of insects. Simon is an award-winning writer, both in NZ and the US. He has twice won the LIANZ non-fiction book of the year award. His latest book was released for Te Papa Press earlier this year and is titled: Why Is That Weta Singing? The Incredible Insects Of Aotearoa. These talks draw on research done for this and some of his other works, brought to life by Simon’s fun and accessible style.

Talks 1 and 2: Stayin’ alive and off the menu - Potential prey have evolved a startling array of strategies to keep ahead of predators.

Talks 3 and 4: Zombies that can change your mind - Some insects change the behaviour of their hosts so they become mindless victims and unwilling buffets and incubators.
