THE PRIVATE LIVES OF MUSEUMS: PART 2

Starts 2nd May, 2-4pm,

Description

Designed to follow on from CWEA’s previous course The private lives of museums, this course aims to explore in greater depth some of the pressing issues faced by museums today. With a principal focus on art museums, this course will think about how environmental, political, social, technological, and ethical contexts shape and are shaped by museums. Completing this course will give you insights into the debates taking place behind the scenes in museums – as well as among communities who hope to influence this sector – and will highlight the contested responsibilities of these institutions in a changing world.

Rosie Ibbotson is Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha University of Canterbury.
