LOOKING AT, UNDERSTANDING AND MAKING ART

Starts Monday 29th April, 1-3pm

Description

If tapping into your artistic side is on your to do list for 2024 but you are not sure where to start then this course is for you! We will start with a trip to the Christchurch Art Gallery to look at the ways artists have used ideas, materials and methods in their works. We will then come back to the WEA and apply some of these ideas and techniques trying out a variety of media.

We will explore: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Collage and 3 Dimensional work. An interest in extending your ideas in making your own work would be good but no experience is necessary. Beginners welcome. Please bring an old shirt, all other materials supplied. Diane was formerly an HoD in Art and Art History and an Education Officer at the Christchurch Art Gallery where she still guides and occasionally teaches. She enjoys making stuff.
