NATURAL HISTORY - THE MAGIC OF NEW ZEALAND AND ITS MOTHERSHIP, THE CONTINENT ZEALANDIA

Description

New Zealand is a tiny sliver of land on the mostly submerged continent of Zealandia, which is about half the size of Australia. Professor Simon Pollard will talk about the explosive forces that shaped New Zealand and how it came to be filled with such a fascinating variety of plants and animals.

This course is based on a book Simon recently completed for Te Papa Press called “Why is that lake so blue?” Simon has a PhD in Zoology and is Adjunct Professor of Science Communication at the University of Canterbury.
